 The Morrisby Profile is a test battery developed specifically for careers guidance. It is composed of several ability tests that together provide an objective view of a person’s talents as they relate to work. The tests include:
- General reasoning ability; or how a person deals with new problems
- Verbal ability; or how a person comprehends the meaning of everyday words
- Numerical ability; or how a person deals with information presented numerically
- Perceptual ability; or how a person understands diagrammatic information
- Spatial ability; or how good a person is at visualising things in three dimensions
- Mechanical ability; or how a person understands simple mechanical ideas.
The Morrisby Profile uses the concept of differential ability. This holds that the pattern of an individuals ability is an important ingredient in identifying careers which suit the individual. Differential ability focuses on relative strengths and what kind of ability rather than how much ability an individual has.
The Morrisby Profile is available locally to assist your Year 11 and 12 students in deciding on post high school career options.
The DMW Group has accredited practitioners to administer the tests and provide reports (both verbal and written) on individuals’ results.
